Old Fashioned Goulash

Ingredients:

1 lb ground beef (or ground turkey)
1 medium onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 (14.5 oz) can diced tomatoes
1 (8 oz) can tomato sauce
1 (6 oz) can tomato paste
2 cups beef broth (or water)
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp Italian seasoning
1 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp garlic powder
2 cups elbow macaroni (or any pasta of choice)
Salt and pepper, to taste
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional, for topping)
Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)
Instructions:

Cook the Ground Beef:

In a large pot or Dutch oven, brown the ground beef over medium heat until fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes. Break it up into small pieces as it cooks. Drain any excess fat.
Sauté the Onion and Garlic:

Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the pot with the beef and cook for another 3-4 minutes, until the onion is softened and fragrant.
Add Tomatoes and Seasonings:

Stir in the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, tomato paste, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, Italian seasoning, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Bring the mixture to a simmer.
Cook the Pasta:

Add the elbow macaroni (or your chosen pasta) to the pot and stir to combine. Cover the pot and cook, stirring occasionally, for about 10-12 minutes or until the pasta is tender and the sauce has thickened. If the sauce becomes too thick, add a bit more broth or water to reach your desired consistency.
Optional Cheesy Topping:

Once the pasta is cooked, sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the top of the goulash, if using. Cover the pot for 2-3 minutes to allow the cheese to melt.
Serve:

Spoon the Old Fashioned Goulash into bowls and garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
