Howdy Roadhouse Steak
Ingredients
2 ribeye steaks (or your preferred cut like sirloin or New York strip)
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon fresh rosemary or thyme (optional)
1 tablespoon butter (for finishing)
Optional: Lemon wedges for serving
Instructions
1. Marinate the Steak:
In a small bowl, mix together the olive oil , Worcestershire sauce , soy sauce , Dijon mustard , garlic powder , onion powder , smoked paprika , cumin , black pepper , salt , and fresh rosemary or thyme if using.
Rub the marinade all over the steaks , ensuring they are well coated. Allow the steaks to marinate for at least 30 minutes at room temperature (or up to 2 hours in the fridge).
2. Preheat the Grill or Pan:
Preheat your grill or a cast iron skillet over medium high heat until it’s very hot. If using a pan, add a little oil to prevent sticking.
3. Cook the Steaks:
Sear the steaks for 4 5 minutes per side for medium rare, or cook to your desired doneness. Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature:
Rare: 120 125°F (49 52°C)
Medium Rare: 130 135°F (54 57°C)
Medium: 140 145°F (60 63°C)
Well Done: 160°F (71°C)
