Honeybun Cinnamon Swirl Loaf Cake

1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
2 large eggs
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1 cup buttermilk
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 cup powdered sugar
2-3 tablespoons milk (for glaze)

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
In a large mixing bowl, cream together the granulated sugar and softened butter until light and fluffy.
Beat in the eggs, one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
Add the buttermilk, and mix until combined.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan, spreading it evenly.
In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar and ground cinnamon. Sprinkle half of this mixture over the batter in the loaf pan.
Pour the remaining batter over the cinnamon-sugar layer and smooth the top.
Sprinkle the remaining cinnamon-sugar mixture on top of the batter. Gently swirl the cinnamon sugar into the batter with a knife.
Drizzle the melted butter evenly over the top.
Bake for 45-55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the loaf comes out clean.
Allow the loaf to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
While the loaf is cooling, prepare the glaze by whisking together the powdered sugar and milk until smooth. Drizzle the glaze over the cooled loaf before slicing and serving.
