Philly Cheesesteak Meatloaf Recipe


⏺ 2 lbs ground beef

⏺ 1 cup bread crumbs

⏺ 1 egg, beaten

⏺ 1/2 cup milk

⏺ 1/2 cup diced green bell pepper

⏺ 1/2 cup diced onion

⏺ 2 cloves garlic, minced

⏺ 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

⏺ 1 teaspoon salt

⏺ 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

⏺ 1 cup sliced mushrooms

⏺ 1 cup shredded provolone cheese

⏺ 1/2 cup beef broth

⏺ Additional provolone slices for topping


1️⃣ Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

2️⃣ In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, bread crumbs, beaten egg, milk, diced green bell pepper, diced onion, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.

3️⃣ Press half of the meat mixture into a loaf pan, ensuring an even layer.

4️⃣ Layer sliced mushrooms and shredded provolone cheese on top of the meat mixture in the loaf pan.

5️⃣ Cover the mushroom and cheese layer with the remaining meat mixture, pressing down gently to seal the edges.

6️⃣ Pour beef broth evenly over the top of the meatloaf.

7️⃣ Place the loaf pan in the preheated oven and bake for 1 hour or until the meatloaf is cooked through and the juices run clear.

8️⃣ Remove the meatloaf from the oven and top with additional provolone slices.

9️⃣ Return the meatloaf to the oven and bake for an additional 5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Once cooked, remove the meatloaf from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
