Armesan Meatloaf

Ingredients:
1 pound of ground beef ๐Ÿ–
1/2 pound ground Italian sausage ๐ŸŒญ
1 small onion, finely diced ๐Ÿง…
1/2 bell pepper, diced (I used orange, it was all I had in the freezer) ๐ŸŒถ๏ธ
1 tsp. olive oil ๐Ÿซ’
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce ๐Ÿฅซ
1 diced garlic clove ๐Ÿง„
1/2 tsp. spices ๐ŸŒฟ
1/2 tsp. basil ๐ŸŒฟ1/2 tsp. parsley ๐ŸŒฟ
1 beaten egg ๐Ÿฅš
3/4 cup Italian breadcrumbs ๐Ÿž
2 slices of white bread, torn up ๐Ÿž
1 tbsp. milk ๐Ÿฅ›
8 oz. shredded mozzarella cheese, reserve 3/4 cup ๐Ÿง€
1/4 cup of Parmesan cheese ๐Ÿง€
1 cup marinara sauce ๐Ÿ… plus an extra 1/2-3/4 cup for garnish ๐Ÿ…PREPARATION: How to make it:
In a small skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Sautรฉ the onions and peppers for 3-4 minutes, then remove from https://smpl.is/94qxg a large bowl, combine the meat, onions, and peppers with all remaining ingredients, reserving the 3/4 cup mozzarella cheese for topping.

I used round Portuguese earthenware for us.Pour 1/2 to 3/4 cup marinara sauce over the meatloaf and spread evenly.
Bake in a 400-degree oven for about 51 minutes.
Remove from the oven, top with the remaining cheese, and sprinkle with a little dried basil. Return to the oven for another 10 minutes.Make sure the meat isnโ€™t pink before serving, as the baking time will vary depending on the thickness of your loaf. Mine was about 2 inches thick.Enjoy! ๐Ÿ˜‹
