Creamy Smoked Sausage Pasta
Ingredients:
1 tbsp olive oil
14 oz smoked sausage, sliced
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup heavy cream
1 cup chicken broth
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 tsp Italian seasoning
1/2 tsp paprika
10 oz pasta (penne or rotini works best)
Salt and pepper to taste
1 cup spinach or arugula (optional)
Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)
Directions:
Cook the pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the smoked sausage slices and cook for 3-4 minutes until browned. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
Stir in the heavy cream and chicken broth, bringing it to a gentle simmer.
Add the Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, and paprika. Stir until the sauce is smooth and slightly thickened. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Add the cooked pasta to the skillet, tossing to coat evenly in the sauce.
Stir in the browned sausage and spinach or arugula (if using). Simmer for 2-3 minutes to meld flavors.
Garnish with fresh parsley if desired, and serve warm.
