Jalapeno Pepper Jack Burgers
Ingredients
1 lbs. lean ground beef
3 Hy-Vee Bakery Fresh sesame buns, split
6 Hy-Vee pepper jack cheese slices
1 medium white onion, sliced and sauteed
1 jalapeno, thinly sliced
1 small red bell pepper, sliced
1 tsp. dried cilantro
Directions
Lightly grease grill rack. Prepare a charcoal or gas grill for direct cooking over medium heat.
Divide ground beef into thirds and form into patties. Make a slight indentation in center of each burger for even cooking.
Grill buns, if desired.
Grill burger patties, flipping once, to an internal temperature of 160 degrees. Cooking time will depend on thickness of burger. Two minutes before removing patties from grill, top each with 2 slices of pepper jack cheese.
To assemble burgers, top each bottom bun with sautéed onions, burger patty with cheese, jalapeno, pepper, cilantro and top bun.
