Easy Chicken Fried Steak with Gravy
Ingredients:
For the Steak:
4 beef cube steaks (about 1/2 pound each)
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon paprika
Salt and pepper to taste
2 eggs
1 cup milk
Oil for frying
For the Gravy:
1/4 cup reserved frying oil
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
2 cups milk
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions :
Prepare the Steaks:
In a shallow dish, combine flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. In another dish, whisk together eggs and milk.
Dredge each steak in the flour mixture, dip into the egg mixture, then dredge again in the flour mixture.
Fry the Steaks:
Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Fry the steaks until golden brown on both sides, about 4 minutes per side. Remove and drain on paper towels. Reserve 1/4 cup of the frying oil for the gravy.
Make the Gravy:
Heat the reserved oil in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir in flour and cook until golden, about 1 minute. Gradually whisk in milk, and continue cooking and stirring until thick and creamy. Season with salt and pepper
