Salisbury Steak Garlic Mash Potatoes Mushroom & Onion Gravy
Ingredients for Salisbury Steak:
1 pound ground beef
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
1 egg
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder salt and pepper to taste 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
Ingredients for Garlic Mash Potatoes:
4 large potatoes, peeled and diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 cup milk
2 tablespoons unsalted butter salt and pepper to taste
Ingredients for Mushroom & Onion Gravy:
1 tablespoon unsalted butter
1/2 onion, thinly sliced
1 cup sliced mushrooms
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
1 cup beef broth salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
Divide the mixture into four portions and shape each into a patty.
Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the patties and cook until browned on both sides, about 3-4 minutes per side. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
In the same skillet, melt 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and mushrooms and cook until the vegetables are soft and lightly browned, about 5-7 minutes.
Sprinkle the flour over the vegetables and stir to coat.
Gradually pour in the beef broth while stirring constantly. Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook until the gravy thickens, about 5-7 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
While the gravy is simmering, prepare the garlic mashed potatoes. Boil the diced potatoes and minced garlic in a large pot of salted water until tender. Drain the water and mash the potatoes and garlic with milk, butter, salt, and pepper until smooth.
Serve the Salisbury steaks with the garlic mashed potatoes and mushroom & onion gravy on top.
