Armesan Meatloaf
Ingredients:
1 pound of ground beef π
1/2 pound ground Italian sausage π
1 small onion, finely diced π§
1/2 bell pepper, diced (I used orange, it was all I had in the freezer) πΆοΈ
1 tsp. olive oil π«
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce π₯«
1 diced garlic clove π§
1/2 tsp. spices πΏ
1/2 tsp. basil πΏ1/2 tsp. parsley πΏ
1 beaten egg π₯
3/4 cup Italian breadcrumbs π
2 slices of white bread, torn up π
1 tbsp. milk π₯
8 oz. shredded mozzarella cheese, reserve 3/4 cup π§
1/4 cup of Parmesan cheese π§
1 cup marinara sauce π
plus an extra 1/2-3/4 cup for garnish π
PREPARATION: How to make it:
In a small skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. SautΓ© the onions and peppers for 3-4 minutes, then remove from https://smpl.is/94qxg a large bowl, combine the meat, onions, and peppers with all remaining ingredients, reserving the 3/4 cup mozzarella cheese for topping.
Now, dive in there with the best tools God has given you (your hands) π, and mix everything really well. Once everything comes together, place the mixture on a baking dish of your choice.
I used round Portuguese earthenware for us.Pour 1/2 to 3/4 cup marinara sauce over the meatloaf and spread evenly.
Bake in a 400-degree oven for about 51 minutes.
Remove from the oven, top with the remaining cheese, and sprinkle with a little dried basil. Return to the oven for another 10 minutes.Make sure the meat isnβt pink before serving, as the baking time will vary depending on the thickness of your loaf. Mine was about 2 inches thick.Enjoy! π
