Spaghetti and Meatballs

Ingredients:
For the meatballs:
1 pound ground beef
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 egg
2 garlic cloves, minced
2 tablespoons chopped parsley
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
Salt and pepper to taste
For the sauce:
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 small onion, finely chopped
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 (28 oz) can crushed tomatoes
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon dried basil or fresh basil leaves
Salt and pepper to taste
For the pasta:
12 oz spaghetti
Fresh parsley and grated Parmesan for garnish
Instructions:
1οΈβ£ Make the Meatballs:
In a large bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, egg, garlic, parsley, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
Roll into 1-inch balls. Heat a skillet with olive oil and cook meatballs until browned on all sides. Set aside.
2οΈβ£ Prepare the Sauce:
In the same skillet, add olive oil, onion, and garlic. SautΓ© until softened.
Stir in crushed tomatoes, sugar, basil, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.
Add the cooked meatballs to the sauce and simmer for another 15 minutes.
3οΈβ£ Cook the Spaghetti:
Boil spaghetti according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
4οΈβ£ Combine and Serve:
Toss the spaghetti with the sauce and meatballs. Garnish with fresh parsley and Parmesan.
