braised fish recipe
Ingredients:
Fish cleaned, scales removed sliced (such as salmon, cod, tilapia or sea bass)
Oil
Garlic, minced
Ginger, minced
Green onions, chopped
Soy sauce
Oyster sauce (optional)
Sugar
Water or chicken stock
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
Marinate the fish:
Season the fish with salt, pepper, and a little soy sauce. Let them marinate for about 15-30 minutes.
Sear the fish:
Heat oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Sear the fish for a couple of minutes on each side, until lightly browned. Remove the fish from the pan and set aside.
Sauté aromatics:
Add minced garlic and ginger to the pan and sauté until fragrant.
Make the sauce:
Add soy sauce, oyster sauce (if using), sugar, and water or stock to the pan. Bring the sauce to a simmer and let it thicken slightly.
Braise the fish:
Return the fish fillets to the pan and gently simmer in the sauce for 5-10 minutes, or until cooked through.
Garnish and serve:
Garnish with chopped green onions and serve with rice
