Best Ever Pepper Steak
Ingredients:
1 1/2 pounds beef sirloin, thinly sliced
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon cornstarch
2 tablespoons vegetable oil, divided
1 bell pepper, sliced
1 onion, sliced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 cup beef broth
1 tablespoon oyster sauce
1 teaspoon sugar
Salt and pepper, to taste
2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)
1 teaspoon sesame seeds
Instructions:
Marinate the Beef: In a mixing bowl, combine the thinly sliced beef sirloin with soy sauce and cornstarch. Stir well to coat the beef evenly. Allow it to marinate for 15 minutes to enhance the flavors.
Cook the Beef: Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef and stir-fry until it’s browned, about 3-4 minutes. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
Sauté the Vegetables: In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of oil. Toss in the sliced bell pepper, onion, and minced garlic. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes, until the vegetables are tender yet still crisp.
Combine and Cook: Return the cooked beef to the skillet. Pour in the beef broth, oyster sauce, and sugar. Mix everything well and cook for another 2-3 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken and coat the beef and vegetables.
Season and Serve: Adjust the seasoning with salt and pepper to your taste. Before serving, garnish with chopped green onions and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
