French Onion Soup Burger

Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef (80/20 blend)
1 medium onion, thinly sliced
2 tbsp butter
1 cup beef broth
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
½ tsp thyme (fresh or dried)
Salt and pepper to taste
4 slices Swiss cheese (or Gruyère)
4 burger buns
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions:
Prepare the Onions:
In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and cook, stirring occasionally, until caramelized, about 15-20 minutes.
Stir in the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, salt, and pepper. Cook for another 5 minutes until slightly thickened. Remove from heat.
Cook the Burgers:
Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat.
Shape the ground beef into 4 patties and season with salt and pepper.
Cook the burgers for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium doneness.
Melt the Cheese:
In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of Swiss cheese on each burger and cover to melt.
Assemble the Burgers:
Toast the burger buns if desired.
Layer the caramelized onion mixture on top of each burger.
Serve with fresh parsley for garnish.
