Ground Beef and Gravy Over Mashed Potatoes
Ingredients:
For the Ground Beef Gravy:
1 pound ground beef
1 onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons flour
2 cups beef broth
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
Salt and pepper to taste For the Mashed Potatoes:
2 pounds potatoes, peeled and cubed
1/2 cup milk
4 tablespoons butter
Salt to taste
Directions:
For the Mashed Potatoes:
Boil potatoes in salted water until tender, about
15-20 minutes.
Drain and return to the pot. Add milk, butter, and salt.
Mash until smooth and creamy.
For the Ground Beef Gravy:
In a skillet, cook ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
Add onion and garlic to the skillet and cook until soft.
Sprinkle flour over the beef mixture and stir to coat.
Cook for 1 minute.
Gradually stir in beef broth and Worcestershire sauce. Bring to a simmer, stirring constantly, until thickened.
Season with salt and pepper.
To serve:
Spoon the beef gravy over the mashed potatoes.
