Ingredients
1 pound ground beef
1 can kidney beans
1 can pinto beans
1 can diced tomatoes
1 can tomato sauce
1 cup chopped onions
1 cup chopped bell peppers
2 tablespoons chili powder
1 teaspoon cumin
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon sugar
1 cup water
Directions
1. Grab a large pot and brown the ground beef over medium heat, gently breaking it apart as you go.
2. Toss in the chopped onions and bell peppers, letting them cook until they’re soft and fragrant.
3. Drain off any excess fat so your chili is nice and hearty without the grease.
4. Now it’s time to add the kidney beans, pinto beans, diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, and water.
5. Sprinkle in the chili powder, cumin, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and just a touch of sugar.
6. Give everything a good stir, bring it all to a gentle boil, then reduce the heat and let it simmer uncovered for at least an hour. Stir every now and then to make sure all those wonderful flavors blend together.
7. Ladle up your chili while it’s piping hot, and enjoy—especially when the air is crisp outside and you need a comforting bowl to warm you up!
