Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef
Lasagna noodles (uncooked)
1 jar (24 oz) spaghetti sauce
1½ cups cottage cheese
1½ cups grated mozzarella cheese
2 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions:
1. Brown the Beef:
In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until it’s browned and fully cooked. Drain any excess fat to keep the dish from becoming greasy. This step provides a rich, savory foundation for the lasagna layers.
2. Layer the Lasagna:
Pour 1 cup of spaghetti sauce into the bottom of a 4-quart slow cooker. Place 2 uncooked lasagna noodles over the sauce, breaking them as needed to fit.
Spread one-third of the browned beef over the noodles. Next, add ¾ cup of cottage cheese and sprinkle with ½ cup of mozzarella cheese.
Repeat the layers (noodles, beef, cottage cheese, and mozzarella) two more times. For the final layer, add a last set of noodles, the remaining beef, and generously top with the rest of the mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
3. Cook in the Slow Cooker:
Cover the slow cooker with its lid and cook on low for about 4 hours. The lasagna is ready when the noodles are tender, and the cheese is melted, bubbly, and slightly golden on top. Serve hot and enjoy this cozy, cheesy delight!
