Ingredients
1 lb beef steak (sirloin, flank, or round)
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 bell pepper (red, green, or yellow), sliced
1 onion, sliced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 tablespoon oyster sauce (optional)
Salt and pepper to taste
Cooked rice, for serving
Directions
1. Slice the beef into thin strips against the grain—this keeps it nice and tender.
2. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
3. Add the beef strips and cook, stirring, until they’re browned, about 3 to 4 minutes.
4. Toss in the sliced onion and bell pepper. Keep stir-frying for another 3 to 4 minutes until the veggies are just tender.
5. Add the minced garlic, soy sauce, and oyster sauce (if you’re using it). Stir everything together and cook for 1 to 2 more minutes to let the flavors meld.
6. Season with salt and pepper to your liking.
7. Spoon the pepper steak over a bed of steaming cooked rice, and enjoy every warm, savory bite.
