Hibachi Steak and Lo Mein
Ingredients:
– 400g sirloin steak, sliced into strips
– 200g lo mein noodles
– 1 medium carrot, julienned
– 1 bell pepper, sliced
– 1 small zucchini, sliced
– 1 onion, sliced
– 2 cloves garlic, minced
– 2 tablespoons soy sauce
– 1 tablespoon sesame oil
– 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
– 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
– Salt and pepper to taste
– 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (for garnish)
– 2 scallions, chopped (for garnish)
Directions:
1. Cook lo mein noodles according to package instructions, then set aside.
2. Heat 1 tablespoon vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the steak strips, season with salt and pepper, and cook until browned and cooked through, about 3-4 minutes. Remove steak from the pan and set aside.
3. In the same pan, add the remaining vegetable oil. Sauté onion, garlic, and ginger until fragrant. Add carrot, bell pepper, and zucchini, cooking until vegetables are just tender.
4. Return the steak to the pan along with the cooked noodles. Drizzle soy sauce and sesame oil over the top. Stir everything together and cook for an additional 2 minutes to combine flavors.
5. Serve hot, garnished with sesame seeds and chopped scallions.
